🍂 Who decided beach vacations should get all the attention?
Because there's something pretty magical about a winding mountain road, crisp autumn air, and an entire hillside dressed up in shades of red, orange, and gold.
And if you've never planned a vacation around fall foliage, you might be missing out on one of the prettiest travel seasons in the country.
From New England's postcard-perfect villages to Colorado's golden aspens and the spectacular mountain scenery of the Blue Ridge, there are some incredible places to experience autumn.
But here's something worth knowing before you start booking...
Peak foliage is a moving target. 🍁
Those gorgeous colors don't arrive on the same dates every year. Weather, elevation, and location all play a part, which is why I recommend building your trip around experiences you'll love even if Mother Nature's timing isn't perfect.
Think scenic drives, cozy mountain inns, charming downtowns, apple orchards, and afternoons with absolutely nowhere you need to be.
I've put together six destinations that deserve a spot on your fall travel wish list. Swipe through for a little inspiration! ➡️
Here's what I want to know: Would you rather spend an autumn weekend exploring little mountain towns or take a weeklong road trip chasing the changing leaves?**
Personally, I think both sound like excellent reasons to pack a suitcase. 😉
