This morning work continued on the trail on Jeremy Dill's (Greywolf) property behind Why Not Stop. Penobscot Off-Road Riders is improving the trail from there to Airport Road for ATV use. This trail is also part of Lincoln Snowhounds Snowmobile Club Trail 4. Today "Backhoe Tom" from PORR (the yellow machine), "Excavator Dave (N.)" also from PORR (not pictured), and "Tractor Dave (S.)", member of both PORR & LSSC (behind the camera on the orange machine), worked together ditching and placing material to harden the surface of this trail for the benefit of both clubs.

On Saturday April 25 Terry attended the 2025-2026 Maine Snowmobile Association Director’s Meeting & Awards Ceremony held at Jeff's Catering in Brewer. The LSSC received a certificate for having the 8th highest number of memberships in the Eastern Region, at (90) memberships according to the certificate. However, according to Kelly, our membership chair, we actually have (73) family memberships and (27) business memberships, for a total of (100) memberships so far for the 2025-2026 season.

Congratulations LSSC, and a big THANK YOU to Kelly, Bob, Terry, Dennis, and anyone else who was instrumental in obtaining any of our memberships this year. Its been a number of years since we could say we have (100) memberships!

Just because the snow is going doesn't mean that the work of club members stops. Terry has been working hard on the club's new-to-us side-by-side. He's donated and installed a rooftop LED strobe bar (hidden behind the LED light bar in this picture), installed a heater (BIG job), repositioned the mirrors (which were useless the way that they were originally installed), added a windshield wiper and washer, and applied some lettering across the top of the windshield. THANK YOU TERRY !!! Thank you also to Kevin & Kelly's daughter Kelsey for making the "Lincoln Snowhounds" lettering to dress up our new buggy.

LSSC trails should be considered closed for the season as of the end of the day today, Sunday March 8, 2026. We will be closing gates and removing the cones from Mattanawcook Lake over the next few days. Field stakes and signs will be picked up once the ground thaws.

ATTENTION SLEDDERS WHO ACCESS MATTANAWCOOK LAKE VIA TRAIL 1 ON THE TAYLOR STREET SIDE OF THE LAKE...

The landowner has requested that sleds passing by his house SLOW DOWN. This is a simple request to abide by. Show a little respect. We are VERY LUCKY to have the use of this property as there are very limited options for accessing the lake on this side as every bit of shorefront property in this area is developed.

If you are "getting air" when you use the ramp to leave the lake, YOU ARE GOING TOOOOOO FAST!!! SLOW IT DOWN OR WE WILL LOSE THE USE OF THIS TRAIL!!!
