It’s back! This year, Melanin Minded Foundation is celebrating multiple accomplishments!

We are excited to announce that Texas Christian University has been selected as the official host location for Her Life & Music: The Golden Celebration.

We are truly grateful for this meaningful partnership with TCU as we prepare for an unforgettable evening centered on legacy, music, prayer, the arts, and community impact.

This special celebration will also include the official launch of the Navigator Transportation Project, a dementia-capable transportation initiative designed to support caregivers and families impacted by memory loss.

We are especially honored to give special recognition to Eisai US for their support of this important launch and their commitment to advancing awareness, care, and hope for families affected by dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

🎉 WHAT A DAY!
Today’s Navigator Transportation Job Fair was a huge success — 25 compassionate people showed up ready to turn purpose into paid, meaningful work supporting ADRD families in our community.
This is what building a dementia-friendly community looks like: neighbors stepping up to become trained, certified drivers who will make a real difference for families living with Alzheimer’s and dementia.
Huge thanks to our partners United Way Tarrant County and the Area Agency on Aging of Tarrant County, and to Gift Church, for standing with us to make today happen.
If you missed it but still want in — it’s not too late. Contact Ed Smith (682-220-7098) or Pat Spence (682-238-9843), or email [email protected].
Together, we’re building something bigger. Thank you to everyone who came out today!

Nuestras Familias, Nuestra Esperanza 💜

Alzheimer’s and other dementias have affected far too many of our families. We have seen the heartache, the caregiving challenges, the loss of memories, and the impact this disease has on the people we love. We must come together to stop it from hurting more families.

That’s why I’m inviting you to join me as we launch Nuestras Familias, Nuestra Esperanza, a new Latino community group under Melanin Minded Foundation focused on reaching families, caregivers, and people living with Alzheimer’s and related dementias (ADRD).

We are starting this Saturday at the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Amarillo, and I would love for you and your family to be part of this beginning. 💜

We are excited to share our founder Dr. Bashir Easter, will have the honor of serving as the Master of Ceremonies for the walk, and we will also have our first Melanin Mindeded Amarillo group Nuestras Familias, Nuestra Esperanza table at the event.

This is more than a walk. It is the beginning of a community.

When you join us, you’ll be helping us build a network where Latino families can come together for:

Education and awareness about Alzheimer’s and ADRD

Support for caregivers and families

Resources and connections within our community
Advocacy for the people and families affected by dementia
Hope, understanding, and a place where our families know they are not alone

There is strength in numbers. Together, we can raise our voices, support one another, and stand strong against a disease that has taken too many of our loved ones too soon.

💜 Join us this Saturday in Amarillo. Come walk with us. Come meet us at our table. Come help us build something for our families.

Nuestras Familias, Nuestra Esperanza 💜

The Bridge youth showed up with energy, purpose, and pride at the Purple Affair in Atlanta! 💜
This live video captures meaningful moments of connection, celebration, and community as our young people continue to learn, lead, and make their voices visible.
A heartfelt thank-you to Dr. Lori James Dixon for creating space for our youth caregivers to be recognized and celebrated. Your support helps affirm the important role these young people play in their families and communities.
We are proud of every youth participant, caregiver, supporter, and partner who helped make this experience possible.
