Our basic obligation as an association is to represent horticulture farmers, especially Smallholder farmers in rural Zambezi, in order to ensure their participation in development actions in the horticulture sector. Representation of our farmers’ participation in policy formulation and implementation is also clearly marked my attendance as Executive Chair to three Namibian Horticulture Advisory Committee (NHAC) meetings with the Namibian Agronomic Board, an institution mandated by Act of Parliament to develop the horticulture industry in Namibia. It is also thoughtful to remark that as part of our obligation, ZAHOPA-4RA had since beginning 2018 given special attention to two substantial components namely: Unlocking Access to Sustainable Markets and Supplies and Access to Funding for our smallholder farmers, especially the youth and women.
