Zambia Railways Limited (ZRL) was proud to participate in the inaugural Muuluungwe Mapanza (Lwiindi) Traditional Ceremony held at Mutangwa Mapanza in Choma District, Southern Province.

The historic ceremony brought together traditional leaders, Government representatives, corporate entities, community members and other stakeholders to celebrate the rich cultural heritage, traditions and values of the Mapanza people.

The ceremony was officiated by the Southern Province Acting Permanent Secretary, Engineer Gift Monde, who congratulated His Royal Highness Chief Mapanza for hosting the inaugural ceremony and commended the organising committee for bringing communities together.

In a speech read on his behalf by the Choma District Commissioner, Mr. Funds Mubele, Engineer Monde said the ceremony provided an important platform to celebrate the identity of the people of Mapanza and the values they seek to preserve and pass on to future generations.

Speaking on behalf of His Royal Highness Chief Mapanza, Chairperson of the Organising Committee, Mr. Emmanuel Hachipuka, commended Government for its efforts to strengthen traditional leadership and provide infrastructure such as traditional leaders’ palaces.
