Paddock Hill Welsh Mountain Pony Stud

Paddock Hill Welsh Mountain Pony Stud Paddock Hill Welsh Mountain Ponty Stud is situated in Wilderness, wedged picturesquely between the sea and the Outeniqua mountain range.

The stud was registered with the WP&CS in 2004. It is owned by Adrienne van Blerk and Ronnie Campbell. VISION AND PHILOSOPHY

From the beginning, our aim at Paddock Hill was to acquire mares which were the direct, or very close, descendants of imported stock. Not surprisingly, our focus was on the Badgemore, Coed Coch and Revel bloodlines. Although this decision has meant that our broodmares are o

f relatively advanced age, the plus side is that their progeny – sometimes over seven or eight generations – are proven. Paddock Hill is also committed to a programme of tight line-breeding which we regard as the only successful method of preserving old and treasured bloodlines. Our philosophy is to run our ponies as a herd, and otherwise, as naturally as possible. Our creed embraces the quotation that “a pony without an ego is a pony without a soul”
