Shelter Marine is a boutique boat building company with the ability to take on unique Custom built houseboats, Schionning designed catamarans and dutch designed Sloep Boats. Ensuring unparalleled quality, attention to detail and customer service.
Houseboats are a fairly new concept in South Africa, our goal is to make this multi-purpose retreat with ever changing scenic views an alternative reality to river/lake property ownership.
Our Sloep Boats called ‘Merlin’ originated in 2016. Being active boaters we found this style boat not only aesthetically pleasing but extremely practical. And so began production… Anyone looking for a water sport boat that can also offer luxury cruising for large families and friends will love our Merlin’s. Made from premium high‐tech fiberglass materials and workmanship to ensure the final result remains pretty much maintenance free whilst satisfying the unique vintage design. A strong emphasis on engineering to maximise the driver experience in any water conditions, as well as style and comfort. It incorporates the socialising aspect of a large cruiser and the power of a speed boat.
Schionning Designs is an Australian based company providing design, kit and materials to build your own high-tech multi-hull. The Kit system utilities DuFlex panels with a balsa core. A pre-cut kit streamlines quantities and minimises wastage on materials. There are a range of Schionning designs, sailing and power multi-hulls that Shelter Marine can put together for you.
