Stay in a whitewashed fisherman's cottage just metres from the beach. Atpatat Cottage is situated within Langezandt Fishermen's Village at Struisbaai near Cape Agulhas, and is a relaxing two-hour drive from Cape Town, through the scenic Cape Overberg region. The cottage comprises a cosy living area with fireplace as well as an eat-in kitchen that's perfect for long, lazy meals after a day at the b

Atpatat Cottage is fully-equipped for self-catering - with microwave, hob and oven, fridge/freezer, coffee-maker, kettle and toaster, as well as pots, pans, crockery, cutlery and utensils - a washing machine provided for guests' convenience. There are two bedrooms in the cottage (one with queen bed, one with two single beds). Main bedroom has an en-suite shower room. There is a second bathroom with bath and shower as well. All bed linen and bath towels are provided. But guests are requested to provide their own beach towels. Electric blankets are also available on request. Outside you'll find a hot and cold shower - perfect for rinsing sandy feet - as well as an outdoor terrace with pergola that's equipped with a built-in barbecue/braai and dining table. Step out of your door at Atpatat Cottage and on to a boardwalk that leads down to an endless stretch of white sandy beach. Between the months of June and December, morning strolls along the beach will entice even the most lethargic guests, with the prospect of a whale wallowing offshore guaranteed to motivate! Atpatat Cottage is the ideal spot for nature walks, with abundant birdlife, butterflies, tortoises and steenbokkies. Langezandt Fisherman's Village is nearby Cape Agulhas, the southernmost tip of Africa, where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet. The striking red-and-white lighthouse here is now a National Monument. A visit to the charming fishing village of Struisbaai is highly recommended. Watch the fishermen's boats come in and buy fresh fish for dinner straight off the boat. The Struisbaai/ L'Agulhas area is a fisherman's mecca, renowned for its great fishing grounds. Restaurants in the Struisbaai/ L'Agulhas area offer a variety of cuisines, with seafood a popular option. A supermarket is conveniently located a few minutes’ drive away from Atpatat Cottage at Struisbaai. More local attractions:
