CONFIRMED NEWS IN | 35-year-old labour law attorney, Chinette Gallichan, shot dead in broad daylight outside the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) offices in Johannesburg ( Gauteng Province )

She had just arrived for a case when a man approached her as she exited her vehicle and opened fire at close range before fleeing to a waiting car.

Gallichan was reportedly representing a well-known mining company in a dispute involving retrenched workers seeking compensation.

Nothing was stolen, and early indications suggest a targeted hit.

Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi’s addressing taxi operators to resolve the taxi conflict.

“A person who wants to take a lift will take a lift. If they want to take a taxi, they will take a taxi. If they want to take a bus, they will take a bus. It is not for you to decide how someone must travel.

If I ever hear that there is an association that stops cars on the road and tells people they are not allowed to take a lift and must use a taxi, the moment I receive that report I will arrest the person responsible. Even if it is a security company doing that, I will report that company to the PSIRA office and have its license taken away. Once that security guard is arrested, the entire company will be shut down. If it operates in other places, we will deal with that in court and close it.

If a taxi driver who belongs to an association does such a thing, it means that person is working for that association. We do not care whether they own the taxi or not we will shut down that association. Those taxis will not operate. If members of the association want to test how powerful the government is, they should start with us. Challenge the government and you will see the power it has.”

TWO ZIM DRIVERS STEALS TWO TRUCKS FROM A DEPOT YARD IN WITBANK,R100 000 REWARD OFFERED

Two Zimbabwean truck drivers have stolen two trucks from a depot yard in Witbank,Mpumalanga.

According to reports,the two men are suspected of have removed the tracking systems from the vehicles before driving away with the trucks from the depot.

A R100 000 reward has been offered for information that may help recover the trucks and lead to the arrest of the suspects.

JUST IN: 900 bottles of medicine from South Africa seized after arrival in Zimbabwe

Authorities seized more than 900 bottles of medicine shortly after the shipment arrived in Zimbabwe from South Africa in a Toyota Quantum.

Two Zimbabwean nationals, Msawenkosi Ndlovu (49) and Vengai Chawa (41), were arrested and charged with unlawful possession of controlled substances.

Officials confirmed the interception followed an operation linked to suspected cross-border smuggling activities near the Beitbridge Border Post. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
