In mineral processing, getting the pH “close enough” isn't always enough.

So where does lime come in?
Lime can be used to raise and control pH, helping create the alkaline conditions required by certain mineral-processing circuits.
But there's an important part that often gets overlooked:
There isn't a universal “add this much lime” formula.
Ore characteristics, mineralogy, process conditions and water chemistry can all influence lime demand.
That means lime isn't simply an ingredient added to the process.
It's part of the chemistry behind the process.
