About Genio Roasters

Based in Johannesburg, South Africa, Genio Roasters is an engineering company that specializes in the design and manufacture of coffee roasting equipment. Owned and operated by Neil Maree, our roasters are built by hand for the discerning individual who values the quality of their roasted coffee above all else. We are not only engineers, but are passionate coffee professionals who participate in the world-wide specialty coffee industry. We have chosen to apply our craft not in terms of coffee preparation or roasting itself, but to the field of engineering equipment catered specifically for the specialty roasting industy.

Genio Roasters understand the coffee industry by being actively involved in it world-wide. We currently have roasters in 15 Countries and our client list includes the 2017 World Roasting Champion among several other progressive roasteries around the world. Neil Maree sits on the Board of Directors for the Specialty Coffee Roasting Association of South Africa, which helps us to not only understand what our clients want, but to also have the means to affect positive change in the industry as a whole. We take a personal interest in all of our customers and give them advice and assistance in building and growing their coffee roasting businesses.
