MEDIA STATEMENT | Hazeldene Shooting Incident

SANTACO Western Cape strongly condemns the fatal shooting incident that occurred in Hazeldene, previously reported as Nyanga, on 2 June 2026.

We call on law enforcement agencies to act swiftly and urge the public to allow the investigation to take its course.

We extend our sincere condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and wish those injured a full recovery.

SANTACO Western Cape remains committed to promoting peace, stability, and non-violent conflict resolution within the taxi industry.

SANTACO ELECTS NEW BOARD β€” CONTROVERSIAL MPUMALANGA BUSINESSMAN SECURES DEPUTY ROLE

South Africa's national taxi industry has a new leadership structure after the South African National Taxi Council (SANTACO) held its elections.

Motlhabane Abnar Tsebe from Gauteng has been re-elected as SANTACO President for the 2026–2030 term.

Mpumalanga businessman Joe "Ferrari" Sibanyoni, a figure described as controversial, was elected as 2nd Deputy President β€” a result likely to draw attention given his public profile.
