Volunteering in conservation is about showing up, learning, and supporting the teams already doing important work on the ground.

Through our programs, volunteers may have the opportunity to support conservation work, assist with monitoring, support data collection, help with research-related tasks, and learn directly from experienced project teams.

Activities vary by program and project needs, but may include wildlife monitoring, marine conservation support, reef surveys, camera trap work, reserve tasks, beach clean-ups, species observations, animal care support, and conservation education.

Impact Volunteers Africa offers structured, self-funded volunteer travel programs. Program fees apply and help cover accommodation, meals, training, guidance, local support, project operations, and conservation work.

These programs are not paid jobs, free internships, or funded research positions. They are designed for volunteers who want to travel with purpose, gain hands-on experience, and contribute in a meaningful way to conservation support in Africa.

Send us a message with VOLUNTEER and we’ll help you choose the program that fits you best.
