Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) recently welcomed the newly delivered MV Pacific Virtue on its maiden voyage and first call in South African waters at the Port of Richards Bay.

The 199.90-metre general dry cargo vessel sailed directly from Zhoushan, China, to South Africa following its delivery from China Merchants Jinling Shipyard in June 2026.

The vessel’s inaugural visit was commemorated with a traditional plaque exchange between the port’s Marine Safety Specialist, Phumlani Dlamini and the captain of the vessel, Captain Zhou Fawei. This is a longstanding maritime tradition symbolizing safe seas and strong maritime partnerships.
