South Africa to Australia? Europe to South Africa? A move across the country? Or somewhere a little more unusual? 🌍

Every pet journey starts with four simple pieces of information: where you are, where you’re going, who is travelling and approximately when.

From there, we can help you understand what your pet’s specific journey may involve.

Planning a move? Get the conversation started.

Cats have their own considerations when preparing for relocation, particularly when it comes to reducing unfamiliarity around their travel crate and keeping their routine as settled as possible before a big journey.

If your cat may be travelling in the future, introducing their travel crate well before travel day can help make it a familiar part of their environment rather than something that suddenly appears on an already unusual day.

And yes… putting treats inside is absolutely acceptable bribery. 😂🐱

Could you organise parts of a pet relocation yourself? Depending on the journey, perhaps.

But what you’re really paying an experienced relocation agent for is coordination and expertise.

Your pet’s veterinary timeline needs to align with government requirements. Documentation needs to align with travel dates. Flights need to work with the destination’s rules. Ground transport, customs, quarantine and overseas agents may all form part of one journey.

Our job is to see the whole picture, not just book point A to point B.

It’s often not the paperwork that worries owners most, it’s imagining how their pet will cope without them.

That concern is completely understandable.

Every animal is different, which is why preparation matters. Your pet’s age, health, temperament, crate, route and destination all need to be considered when planning their journey.

We’ve helped pets travel across countries and continents before being happily reunited with their families on the other side. 🐾

If worry is stopping you from even exploring the possibility of taking your pet, speak to us first. Let’s look at the actual options available for your animal.

One of the best times to ask us about your pet’s relocation is before everything is confirmed.

Why?

Because your destination may influence the preparation your pet needs, and certain requirements can take time.

You don’t have to wait until your house is sold, visa approved and flights booked to start gathering information.

If an international move is even potentially on your horizon, get in touch. An early conversation can help you understand what to expect, without committing you to travelling tomorrow.

It can be tempting to fill your pet’s travel crate with every comfort from home, favourite blanket, toys, giant bed, half the contents of the treat cupboard… 😂

But when it comes to travel crates, safe and appropriate beats cluttered and cosy-looking.

What can and cannot travel inside may depend on your airline, route and destination requirements, so always follow the specific guidance provided for your pet.

Save this for future travel planning, and when in doubt, ask us before adding anything to the crate.

This. This is the whole point. 💛

The paperwork is finished. The flights are over. The boxes are mostly unpacked. And your pets are already acting like they’ve owned the new house for approximately six years. 😂

Every complicated relocation eventually becomes an ordinary life again, morning walks, favourite sleeping spots, dinner begging and your whole family under one roof.

Planning your own next chapter? We’d love to help get them there.
