On Tuesday last week, a stranger messaged me on Facebook and told me to change my username with immediate effect.
It came as a shock to me, because neither have I ever met this person, nor ever spoken to them.
At first, I took it at face value, and ignored the message. Only for the person to send the exact message again, asking that I change my username with immediate effect.
When I asked why, the person said that my username belonged to him, but his account got deleted by Facebook when he died. Now, he is back, and wants everything that belonged to him back, including the username.
I found this amusing, and it got me laughing hard. It was probably a prank; some jobless, bored user was probably seeking some attention.
Well, I told the stranger that there's no way I will change my username, because my name is my brand, and people already know it wildly. Apparently, there's no way I can change my username for such a flimsy reason; the least, from someone I don't know from Adam.
The last message I remember from this user was, "You're proving stubborn? You will hear from me."
"Is that a threat?" I asked.
"Don't dare ask me. You will know once I'm done dealing with you."
On this note, I pushed the block button.
I paid no attention to the incident, neither did I think about it again.
But, on Friday night, something strange starter happening. I plugged my phone in the sitting room while I was watching TV, I didn't know when I dozed off.
When I woke up, my phone and charger were no longer in the room. I asked my brother it he had seen my phone, and he said no. I went to my room to check, only for me to see my phone plugged in, charging.
The strangest part of it all was, my phone was unlocked, and the Facebook app was open. No one is my family knows my password, and I was sure I had switched off my data before dozing off downstairs.
I assumed I had made a mistake, and thought my phone was with me in the sitting room. So, I let it slide.
On Saturday morning,
