Have you ever shopped at Bake-A-Ton?

I've had a very positive experience with them recently

We have a wonderful shop here in Parys, called Spices-on-Breë, which usually has everything one needs. So I was surprised to find that they don't stock Isomalt, which I needed for gingerbread house windows

I checked online and ordered Isomalt from Bake-A-Ton as their prices were very good. What impressed me immediately, was the speed with which the order was executed. I received my order in now time at all! And if you are in the greater Durban area, delivery is FREE

Later I saw on my bank statement that the payment has gone through twice. The EFT did not go through at the first try, so I tried again later. Seems it then went through both times

Anyway, last week I sent Bake-A-Ton an email, asking them to look into this

Within MINUTES I received a reply from them, apologizing for the double payment and asking for my bank account details to do a refund. I actually felt they did not have to apologize, as I assumed it was some glitch or something which caused the double payment, and not their fault

After a few pleasant back and forth emails with a lady named Promise, I was informed that the refund was done. The money was back in my bank account by the next morning!

The whole experience has left me with a positive feeling and I felt I wanted to share it with you all. Good service needs to be applauded!

I also want to wish all of you a very happy and prosperous 2026. May our days be filled with orders, all priced correctly to ensure we make lots of money! 🤗🤗🤗

Has anybody used this liquid eggwhite before? It costs R139.99 for 1 litre, which is 33 eggs, so R4.24/eggwhite. Whole eggs are R109.99/30 at Checkers now, R3.67 each. So, this liquid eggwhite is more expensive, but I think it might be worth a try. I'm way too unorganized to store and use the yellows in custard or whatever 🤪And I'm scared of raw eggwhite in royal icing, so I use actiwhite, but maybe with this being pasteurized, it will be okay?

I'm also wondering if I can freeze it 🤔
