Happy Earth Day 🌍
I puzzled about a picture to post today…and have settled on Antarctica 🇦🇶. It is the most beautiful and pristine place on our planet. The best thing about Antarctica though, is that it belongs to everyone. Not any single country owns Antarctica. Some countries have made claims - but all of these claims have been suspended. That’s good news for Antarctica, and good news for the Earth.
Antartica belongs to Mother Earth. And I think that’s just wonderful.
Frank Wild, who was Sir Ernest Shakleton’s right hand man, and very experienced Antarctic explorer, famously said “Once you’ve been to the white unknown, you can never escape the call of little voices, calling you back”. I fully understand and agree with him - I yearn to be back down there.
