Team spirit was in full swing at the annual Sturrock and Robson Sports Day in Edenvale!

Pandrol was proud to take part alongside colleagues from Martin & Robson, LAS, and the broader S&R Group. The event featured competitive indoor soccer and netball matches, with Pandrol entering two teams in each category.

While we didn’t come home with medals this year, the day was filled with energy, teamwork, and plenty of fun. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with peers from across the Group, strengthen relationships, and enjoy a day outside the office.

🐍 Snake Awareness Training with African Reptiles and Venom 🐍

A big thank you to the African Reptiles and Venom team for providing our Pandrol South Africa Sales and Technical teams with in-depth snake awareness training.

Given that snakes are frequently encountered along railway tracks, this training was essential to ensure our teams are well-prepared and confident in the field.

The session covered:
✔️ Snake identification
✔️ Snakebite treatment
✔️ Safe snake handling techniques

As part of the hands-on experience, the team had the rare opportunity to handle a Puff Adder, Rinkhals, Mozambique Spitting Cobra, and Cape Cobra — safely and under expert supervision.

This training has significantly enhanced our understanding and respect for these remarkable creatures, helping us approach potential encounters with both caution and confidence.
