Kamuzu International Airport (LLW) in Lilongwe is open and operating international flights, but it does not currently hold formal aerodrome certification from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to meet the international standards. It is working to fully meet all International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) safety and licensing standards.Despite lacking this specific, formal ICAO certification, the airport acts as Malawi's main international hub and is regularly utilized by foreign passenger and cargo operators.
