We’re proud to announce that we’ve officially adopted 4 African penguins, a small but powerful symbol of the ocean ecosystems that keep global trade moving and life thriving.

Why an African penguin?
Because every shipment we move across ocean freight routes depends on healthy seas. Protecting marine life isn’t just conservation; it’s protecting the very highways that connect the world.

African penguins are one of South Africa’s most endangered marine species, facing challenges from changing ocean conditions, food shortages, and environmental pressures. Through this adoption, we’re supporting vital conservation efforts to help protect our oceans and the wildlife that depend on them.

This Madiba Day, we're reminded that the smallest acts of kindness can create the biggest impact.

Over the last few months, our incredible employees, clients and partners rallied together to collect 2,000 coffee jars. Together, the S**O Team of Companies carefully filled every single one with soup ingredients, turning simple jars into meals, hope and a reminder that someone cares.

These Jars of Hope are now being distributed by our teams to charities across South Africa, reaching children's homes, old age homes and communities in need.
Together, these 2,000 jars will provide over 8,000 warm meals for people during
the cold winter months.

This is the third year we've proudly driven this initiative, and every year we're reminded that giving isn't just about what we donate, it's about the time, care and love that goes into every gesture. Our teams volunteered their time to fill each jar by hand, knowing that every scoop could make a difference to someone's day.

As Nelson Mandela said: "What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead."

To everyone who donated a jar, gave their time, packed with purpose, or helped us spread a little warmth this winter, thank you. Your generosity has helped turn 2,000 empty jars into 8,000 reasons to smile.

Here's to continuing Madiba's legacy, one act of kindness at a time.
