We had the most incredible scenes at Pilansberg.... Nearly bumped into an ellie at the picnic spot for our first coffee stop, lovely lunch at Bakubung lodge and the hide highlight at the water hole with 2 herds of ellie, giraffe, rhino, impala and zebbies sending us off with huge smiles on our faces for the journey back to Jozi.

Day trips to the Pilansberg always keeps the glass half full. We enjoyed lunch while watching a hippo stroll around the waterhole and had 4 hours of great sightseeing.

We explored the Harties river hiking trail, only 55 minutes from Johannesburg. The scenery was beautiful and my friend managed to partake only a few weeks after having back surgery, so I believe anyone can enjoy these stunning view points. Please see comments for more information.
