This initiative is fully funded by our travel partner, kimkim, and is operated by the trusted carbon footprint specialist, ETC Africa.

Thanks to kimkim's support, we are pleased to offer a Complimentary Carbon Footprint Assessment and Training Workshops to the first 25 lodges that sign up.

We’re incredibly proud to share that The Eco Travel Boutique has officially been awarded Travelife Partner status! 🎉✨

The Eco-Travel Boutique achieves Travelife Partner level

Amsterdam, December 8th 2025.

The Travelife Partner level award was received today by The Eco-Travel Boutique (South Africa). The award recognizes the company’s long-term efforts regarding sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility.

The Eco-Travel Boutique complies with more than 100 criteria, related to an operator’s office management, product range, international business partners and customer information. The Travelife Partner level standard is covering the ISO 26000 Corporate Social Responsibility themes, including environment, biodiversity, human rights and labour relation.

Mr. Naut Kusters, manager of Travelife for Tour Operators, “I am delighted to see that sustainability in the tour operator sector is obtaining momentum. The Partner award of The Eco-Travel Boutique will inspire other companies in South Africa to follow the same path’.

Travelife is the leading international sustainability certification for the travel sector and the Partner award is a recognition of our commitment towards social and environmental sustainability.

We comply with more than 100 criteria related to sustainability management, office operations, working with suppliers and customer communication.

We are working towards further improvements aiming to eventually reach the Travelife Certified stage.”

Travelife is a 3-stage certification program for tour operators and travel agents:

(1) Travelife Engaged;
(2) Travelife Partner and
(3) Travelife Certified.

We are currently at stage 2 – Travelife Partner. We are working to move forward to stage 3 - Travelife Certified.

This poor baby elephant was left all alone after its mom died. All by himself, he was totally unaware a pride of lions was waiting for him to approach their hiding spot. They almost got him but luckily baby Eli managed to escape and lives to roam the Okavango Delta for another day!
