Description
Depot (truck) Assistant with code 10 drivers license

Please note criminal and reference checks are done prior to filing this position.

Duties include
-fleet control management
you will be responsible for attending to breakdowns and assisting the mechanic with picking up parts.

-Managing the depot
this is an important role as you are responsible for maintaining stock of parts ,cleaning supplies and tools.

-Equipment and Truck Checks
you will need to assist the controllers with equipment checks before trucks are dispatched from the depot ,this includes ensuring the mechanic performs a full mechanical check prior to the truck departing the depot.
keep a full count record of truck equipment and report any lost or damaged equipment.

-Depot Staff
you are responsible for the overseeing of the depot staff and must ensure each staff member is carrying out their work for the day, this also includes marking a depot registers daily and ensuring the offices receive it daily.

-Fuel consumption and route planning
this position includes a lot of driving.
you have to be able to plan your routes carefully in order to ensure we get good fuel consumption.

-Delivering of documents and reject stock
documents to customers have to be delivered on time and neatly just as our offices hand them to you.
If there are any reject stock at the depot it is your duty to follow up with the controllers and ensure it is delivered to relevant warehouses timeously.

Requirements
- code 10 drivers license
-3 years experience in a similar field of work
- clear criminal record
- sober habits
-honest, responsible and punctual
-ability to work under pressure
- able to work overtime
