🔎 Divers had already searched the river and found nothing. Today a white police officer the community calls Sbali came on duty, said he was not satisfied, and took a team of divers back into the water. They kept searching until they found the boy’s body. 👮

💔 Those who died were Theresa, her sons Jayden, 6, and Alrenzo, 4, and Winrico Heyns, 11, the son of a family friend who was sleeping over. They were in the house when the flames took hold. An account says Theresa tried to get a child out through a window, but the fire was already too strong. Winrico’s mother also tried to pull her son out and could not. All four died at the scene. 🏠

🗣️ Abel Simmery, the father of Jayden and Alrenzo, had spent Saturday with the family and left in the early hours, at about 00:30. He has spoken of his grief and said that if he had stayed, he might have been able to save them. 😢

📅 The family only learned what had happened on 8 October, after a witness saw him and recognised him from a missing-person poster. His body was taken to a hospital and then to the Germiston mortuary, where the family found him. 🏥

📍 The Mpumalanga High Court in Mbombela sentenced Mandla Sizwe Nkosi, 37, to life in prison on 14 October 2026 for the premeditated murder of his former girlfriend, Thembeka Nomfundo Bembe, 32, a nurse. The murder happened at her flat in KaNyamazane Extension 19 on 30 June 2022. ⚖️

💔 The court heard that the couple had separated, and Bembe had received death threats. On the night she was killed, she was with her sister when the power in their room went off. The sisters went outside to the electricity box. Shots were fired at them. Bembe was hit and died. Her sister escaped. 🔫

🗣️ A traditional healer told the court that Nkosi later came to him to be cleansed because he had killed someone. Cellphone evidence also placed Nkosi at the scene. The court rejected his version. 📱

🗣️ The State alleges that Denroy Pockpas, 36, strangled her after she visited his home. His mother, Christine Pockpas, 59, and her boyfriend, Ifraam Silver, 49, are accused of helping him hide the body. Police say the body was stuffed into a cupboard, placed in a wheelie bin, and concealed. Christine is also alleged to have tried to clean up blood. 🗑️

🧬 The body was found on 17 February at Sea View Flats in Hangberg. It was badly decomposed. DNA confirmed it was Amiena. 🕯️

📍 A 38-year-old woman was killed in Garies, in the Northern Cape, last week. According to the account, she found her boyfriend with another woman. When she confronted him, they argued. 💔
