The Fish Hoek-Kommetjie-Noordhoek Welfare Association (FHKNWA) is a Non-Profit and Public Benefit Organisation with Section 18A status that operates in the Simon’s Town Magisterial District of the City of Cape Town, South Western Cape Region in Southern Africa. This area is situated in the Southern Cape Peninsula and is right at the tip of the continent of Africa. The Association’s focus is on wor

king with children and families facing the adversities of living with a family member with special needs. Sinethemba Special Care Centre, main project of FHKNWA, is a day care centre in Masiphumelele, an informal settlement between Fish Hoek and Kommetjie. Sinethemba provides care for children with severe and profound special needs. Sinethemba Special Care Centre and the Association offer:

• Day Care for children with special needs
• Counselling
• Recreational activities
• Public Education towards inclusion
• Community outreach
• Creative Stimulation Programmes
• Transport to and from Special Care Centres
• Adult and youth groups with special needs
• Transference of care skills

🚚💙 A huge thank you to Tool Hire Solutions for once again donating the use of one of their trailers for our Red Cross Outreach Day!

Twice a year, they generously help us transport all of our children’s assistive devices to Red Cross Children’s Hospital. This makes it possible for our children with Cerebral Palsy to have their equipment adjusted as they grow, ensuring comfort and independence. 🌈

Yesterday we took our children with Cerebral Palsy and their parents to Red Cross Children’s Hospital for our Outreach Day. 💙

This visit is vital:

👩‍⚕️ Doctors review and adjust medication to ensure each child’s health needs are met.

🦽 The Seating Clinic helps adjust assistive devices as our children grow, ensuring comfort and mobility.

We are deeply grateful to the dedicated medical teams who walk this journey with us. 🌈

Together, we make sure every child receives the care and support they deserve. 💖
