This beautiful teak outdoor table was given a new lease on life with Colortone Wood Seal.

The existing coating was first removed through sanding, followed by a thorough clean to remove dust, dirt and oils. Once the timber was dry and ready, Wood Seal was applied with a diluted first coat followed by two undiluted coats.

Colortone Wood Seal is a UV-protective, water-repellent finish designed for exterior wooden surfaces, helping your outdoor furniture stand up to the elements while allowing the natural character of the timber to shine through.

With the warmer months approaching, now is a great time to look at your own outdoor furniture and decide what could use a refresh.

The natural character of the wood was brought back to the forefront, leaving these much-loved chairs looking better than ever.

We’re always thrilled to see beautiful pieces restored rather than replaced, especially when they have a story behind them.

Vanessa recently restored her antique chairs using Colortone Clear Varnish, bringing the timber back to life while preserving the character that made the chairs special in the first place.

Colortone Clear Varnish provides a protective finish while allowing the natural colour and grain of the timber to remain visible. This makes it an ideal choice for restoration projects where you want to enhance the existing beauty of the wood rather than cover it up.

The finished chairs are a beautiful example of how the right finish can help preserve the character of a much-loved piece.

This riempies bank has been part of our CEO Raymond’s family history for generations.

Originally from his great-grandparents’ farm, Leeuwberg in Phillipstown, Northern Cape, it was ready to be restored and enjoyed for years to come.

The process started with carefully sanding the timber to remove the old finish and create a
smooth surface ready for refinishing.

After cleaning and preparing the wood, two coats of Colortone Wood Varnish were applied. The clear finish enhances the natural character of the timber while providing a protective layer for the restored piece.

The bench is now beautifully refreshed and still carries all the character and history of the
original.

find the right finish for your project.

Some furniture carries more than memories. It carries generations.

This beautiful 120-year-old ‘riempies bank’ has a very special history. It originally belonged to Raymond’s great grandparents and came from their farm, Leeuwberg, in Phillipstown in the Northern Cape.

After 120 years, the bench was ready for a little care.

It was carefully sanded before receiving two coats of Colortone Wood Varnish, bringing out the natural character and beauty of the wood once again.

The finished result is a beautiful reminder that when a piece has history, it’s worth preserving.

120 years later, and this family heirloom is looking as beautiful as it used to.
