ommitted to developing original and autonomous programmes for culture and inter-disciplinary artistic practice. Joule City is an Incubator & Research Studio. Its focus is to re-position the work of the artist, cultural producer, researcher and creative practitioner in contemporary society, so they are recognised for their art which challenges artistic and cultural norms, and which has the skill to suggest new canons of knowledge, new economies, new dialectics, and most importantly share this work with highly intelligent audiences, both locally and in in relation to global markets. Simply put, Joule City supports the experimental and exploratory production, free expression and distribution of new content, knowledges, cultural and artistic expressions, by young emerging professionals into public life. It is a multi-purpose premises for interdisciplinary meeting points, artistic experimentation, creative fusion and business incubation. Joule City is named after the ‘joule’, the scientific unit of work. Joule City is an investment into the shared responsibility between Government, Business, Academia and Civil Society, of building a flourishing knowledge economy, which is commercially competitive in the global creative economy.
