🚨🚦A traffic light outage has been reported at Old Faure Rd intersection. Please approach with caution and treat as a 4-way stop.
🚨🚦A traffic light outage has been reported at CT Film Studio intersection. Please approach with caution and treat as a 4-way stop.
🚨🚦A traffic light outage has been reported on the N2 bridge at Somerset West turn-off as well as Cape Town turn-off. Please approach with caution and treat as a 4-way stop.
🚨Sand has been reported in the turn-off lane as well as in the center median at Monwabisi first turn-off direction Stellenbosch to Muizenberg. No obstruction has been caused.
No other problems have been encountered.

Sunday 10 May 2026. Multiple SAWS Weather Alerts have been issued. SAWS Warnings are in effect for Cold, Windy, High Rainfall, High Seas, Snow and Ice on roads and rail. Road Closures are in place in Central Karoo and Garden Route. Please be aware that wind speeds and directions vary as you travel inland and along different coastlines. Refer to the above chart for forecasted wind gusts. ⚠️⚠️ Beaufort West, ⚠️⚠️ Laingsburg, ⚠️⚠️ Cape Agulhas, ⚠️ Cape Metropole, ⚠️ George, ⚠️ Plettenberg Bay, ⚠️ Oudtshoorn. Exercise caution while driving, especially for those commuting. Keep headlights on, reduce speed and adjust following distance. Sudden braking in rainy and cold weather may cause aquaplaning. REMINDER:

Partial R44 Clarence Drive Closure on 4 May

The Strand Athletics Club has confirmed a partial road closure for the False Bay 50 road race on Sunday, 4 May 2025. The race begins at 06:30 from Kleinmond Primary School via Main Road and finishes at Gordon’s Bay Primary School, following the scenic R44 coastal route.

To ensure the safety of runners and volunteers, Provincial Traffic will close the mountain-side lane of the R44 between Rooi Els and Gordon’s Bay from 06:30 to 13:30. Advance warning signs will be placed in the days prior to the event.

Motorists travelling between the Helderberg and Overberg regions are encouraged to use the N2 and Sir Lowry’s Pass as an alternative route during the closure.

The organisers thank the public for their understanding and support in helping make the race a success.
