Jessica does have a slightly unorthodox way of communicating in that she works exclusively via e-mail. However, her responses are so prompt, clear, and efficient that it genuinely feels as though you are having a real-time conversation via text. UK Visitor Visa Holders!! Listen up!!!

Travellers who already have a valid UK visa in their passport do not need to reapply for a new e‑visa. Instead, they need to ensure their current visa is linked to a UKVI account.

To do this, they need to:

-Create or sign in to their UKVI account.
-Add the passport they will travel with.
-Link their existing visa through the ‘View and Prove your immigration status’ section.
-Confirm that their visa and passport details display correctly before travelling.
-Once linked, their visa will appear digitally when their passport is scanned at the UK border.

The UK’s ETA is also now mandatory for all travellers from visa-exempt countries travelling to the UK. Including all EU passport holders. Please email [email protected] for assistance.

UK eVisa

The application process itself remains largely unchanged for South Africans. They must still book an appointment at the UK visa application centre (VFS) and will then receive their visa and confirmation via their UKVI account. Pricing does not change. Just no visa stickers anymore.

Attention EU passport holders who are flying to UK!

The UK’s Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) will be mandatory for all visa-exempt travellers from February 25. Those without an ETA will not be able to board their flights and travel to the UK.

An ETA currently costs £16 (R347) and permits multiple entries for stays of up to six months at a time over two years. The ETA fee is currently under review and could be increased to £20 (R434) in the future.

During the application, applicants will need to pay the fee, provide contact and passport details, provide a valid digital photo and answer suitability and criminality questions. Individuals must travel using the same passport they used when they applied for an ETA.

South Africans applying for a Turkish e-visa must now purchase compulsory travel insurance during the online application process.

The Turkish Embassy in Pretoria has confirmed that applicants are required to pay a mandatory R200+- travel insurance fee when submitting their e-visa applications. While the e-visa itself remains free of charge, applications will not be approved or issued unless the insurance payment is completed as part of the process.
