Meet the team
WILLIAM STEPHENS IN A NUTSHELL
Owner of Frankie's Transport
Operations
I was born on 21 February 1989 in Bloemfontein.
At age 7 we moved to Stellenbosch where I started school at Stellenbosch Primary School. Little William was a busy, talkative boy who enjoyed being with his friends.
I really enjoyed sports in school. My sport and hobbies really played a big role in my life and shaped a big part of my personality. I learned allot about myself as a young boy on the rugby field, I learned how to work in a team, have discipline and where I found most my confidence.
I was an outdoors child and I have so many great childhood memories.
After primary school I went to Stellenbosch High School and continued playing Rugby and sports, but I my interests in my academic development faded as my interests grew more into my father's business and I started helping him after school. In standard 8 I decided to give school up and help my father with his Transport company.
While helping him I learned that you are always going to have struggles in life, but it's just all about what you make of it. In the field you can get tired of the long hours, there is always new competition and things happen that is out of your control and it can set you back, but then you have to realize, you have to work hard, fight back for what you want and never give up on yourself.
After a while I wanted to grow confidence in my workplace and explored new career opportunities. I worked for Wynland Engineers, where I got my experience with rigging and engineering, whereafter I worked at Stainless tech in Stellenbosch where I also received a lot of experience, but my biggest dream has always been to follow in my father's footsteps. He has always been my biggest role model.
When my father passed away, he asked my mother to sell all the trucks and only kept 2 8 Ton trucks and his last wish was for me to grow the company again to its full potential.
Later my mother wanted to retire, so I took Frankies over and started planning on how I can get the company to where it once was under my father's management.
I have fallen in love with my work. I love the fact that I am in a position to employ people where they can generate an income. I love the fact that I can motivate and encourage people to believe in their dreams and work hard for what you want.
I have a vision for what I want Frankies Transport to be and I am privileged to have such a great team and wife behind me who supports me and work with me to reach my goals and dreams.
I have been the proud owner of Frankies Transport since August 2018. I have learned and grew so much since becoming an owner of a business.
It is not always fun and games. There is so much hard work you have to put in, stress that comes along with it and people you are responsible for, but if you work hard, love what you do and have the best team that works with you, nothing can stop you from becoming whatever you want to be.
Frankies' success always comes from the two RR's; RELATIONSHIP and RESULTS.
- The relationship we have with our clients is unbreakable. We are a family and we will always walk the extra mile for our clients.
- The results of the work we do speaks for itsels.
With great clients and a great team behind me and my family, Frankies can only grow and evolve.
