In terms of Part 101 of the Civil aviation regultation and Standards (SACATS & CARS) it is prohobited to operate any drone above 7kg without being licensed (Drone and Pilot).
Further to this in our industry (Agricultural Aviation) you require a PCO (Pest control operator) license issued by the Department of Agriculture should you wish to do your own applications.
We as Legal Commercial aerial applicators are whitnessing a sharp rise in large crop spraying drones being operated outside of the legal frame work with no 2 way comminication of right of way towards aircraft.
It is a major safety hazzard towards our pilots and aircraft.
Further to this it is evedent from post application observations from air that these applications done by the farmers them selfs were not done correctly as streaking or miss sprays/drift are whitnessed on the majority of fields.
For your own best interests and those that you now share the air with please research the regulations.
We at Sheasby Aviation have a open door policy and will always be willing to assist to make our skies a safer place and make applications as safe and precise as possible!
