This is my Great Uncle Johnnie Likes. He was a member of the 90th Infantry Division, famously known as the “Tough Ombrés”. On June 6, 1944, he stormed Utah beach Normandy, as part of the massive D-Day invasion. Johnnie survived that horrible day, unfortunately he was killed one month later, on July 6, 1944. The “Tough Ombrés” were tasked to clear the Foret de Mont-Castre (Hill 122), after multiple days of ferocious fighting, Hill 122 was finally taken. In this action, the “Tough Ombrés” suffered 5000 killed, wounded, or captured. This battle was one of the highest casualty rates suffered in WWII. I am truly grateful for my Great Uncle’s sacrifice and the sacrifices of his fellow Brothers known as the “Tough Ombrés”
May we never forget the ultimate sacrifice so many of our warriors have paid for this great Country.

A paraglider gets hit by a Cessna 172 near the Austrian town of Zell am See.

The paraglider was able to pull her rescue parachute and land safely shortly after the incident on Saturday.

The pilot of the Cessna, which flew from the Glemm Valley in the direction of Zell am See, was able to land the aircraft safely at Zell am See Airport.

Frontier hit a person walking on the runway on takeoff at Denver tonight. Frontier rejected the takeoff with and engine fire and evacuated everyone on the runway. Absolutely a nightmare scenario.

Julius “Whiskers” Bratton was the Blues pilot and did an amazing job.

I managed to not pass out or get sick. 7 plus Gs with no G suit is a freaking challenge.
