Thank you immensely for all of your generous donations. We have truly exceeded the limits of what we will be able to haul. The 3rd load is completely full and we can NO LONGER TAKE ANY DONATIONS!!

We made it to our destination and the truck is being unloaded. The people here are so grateful for the generosity of all of you back home. They truly underestimated what to expect, just as we did. Ashe Really Cares is a local food pantry that is going to assist in the distribution of the items. They cannot take clothing, but for anyone who has donated them, know that they will be distributed to churches that are making sure they get to those who need them.
We asked what kinds of things they are still in most need of. They said with the cold moving in, their greatest needs are: Propane heaters
Propane bottles
Camp cook stoves
Flashlights
Batteries
Blankets
Generators
Electrical cords.
They worry about those living in the mountains that will need to keep warm because they expect that it will be at least a month before electricity is restored in some areas. At this time, they are good with the amount of water we have already had donated.

Due to the volume of stuff we brought down, we had to change the location of where we are delivering. It is being unloaded in Crumpler, NC, where they had a building large enough to unload into.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of the generous people that came out over the weekend to help us fill the trailer for North Carolina. It is such a wonderful feeling to see how good people are when they know others are in need. We are on our way with Load #1 and will share moments with you tomorrow as we unload. Because of the enormous generosity from everyone, there will be a Load #2 and possibly a #3. If you have not had a chance, but would like to donate, please do so by the end of the day on Wednesday so we know what we need to make room for. Thanks again. Small town rural America is the best!!! Hurricane Relief
We have all seen images of the flooding and devastation in the Southeast from Helene's wrath. Some of those hit the hardest are in communities that our trucks go to on a regular basis. They are small town farm people like many of us here and some of them have lost everything. The people there have always been very gracious to us and our drivers. One time we had a driver broke down there from 10 am to midnight and people stopped by giving him sandwiches, lasagna, and apple crisp. That's just the kind of people they are.

For this reason, we would like to give back during their time of need. We will be loading what we can in a washed out, disinfected, and plastic lined livestock trailer on Sunday, October 5, from noon to 3, to take needed supplies to them. Some of the things they really need are:
Water
Diapers
Canned baby formula
Wet wipes
Batteries
Masks
Cleaning supplies
The truck will head out on Monday morning for Piney Creek, NC. Please help us fill the trailer.
