🚨 Hurricane Warning in Effect for the Cayman Islands 🚨

As of 7am today, Monday, 4 November 2024, the Cayman Islands is under a Hurricane Warning. The system, currently 455 miles SSE of Grand Cayman, is moving north and could pass near Grand Cayman and Little Cayman by midday tomorrow, Tuesday, 5 November.

⚠️ Expected Impacts:
- Grand Cayman: Up to 6 inches of rain, tropical storm force winds over 39 mph, with gusts up to 74 mph, and wave heights peaking at 9-13 feet.
- Cayman Brac & Little Cayman: Up to 11.5 inches of rain, tropical storm force winds, gusts reaching hurricane strength, and wave heights of 9-13 feet.

📍 Sandbag Locations
Available today:
- Grand Cayman: Linford Pierson Highway, Agriculture Pavilion (Bodden Town), West Bay Fire Station, East End Fire Station.
- Cayman Brac: Cotton Tree Bay, Watering Place Gardens. Assistance is available from 12-2pm and 4-6pm for those unable to fill their own sandbags.

⚠️ Flood & Small Craft Warnings in Effect:
Flooding is anticipated across all islands. Coastal areas may experience property damage due to high wave activity.

🚸 Schools & Government Operations:
Schools will be open today, Monday, but will close tomorrow, Tuesday. Further updates on shelter openings will be provided later today.
