After 383 days on the road, 25 new countries, and over 55,000 kilometers, we’ve reached the halfway point of our Expedition East. The first two stages are now behind us: the Middle East and Central Asia.

What was initially planned as a journey of less than a year and around 30,000 km quickly grew into something much bigger. 😉

This was our first time traveling through this part of the world. We came here driven by curiosity about its history and culture, but the reality far exceeded our expectations. The cradle of civilization, thousands of years of heritage, amazing food — all of it intertwined with modern cities, contrasts, and everyday life that you can only truly understand by experiencing it yourself.

When it comes to riding and landscapes, the Pamir Mountains and the Wakhan Valley hold a special place for us. But the truth is, each of those 25 countries had something unique to offer — roads and views that will stay with us for a long time.

We planned this route by marking specific points on the map. But as always, it was the people who turned this journey into something truly unforgettable. The encounters, the openness, the time spent together and conversations — these are the moments that stay with us the most.
To everyone we met along the way: thank you. This journey wouldn’t have been the same without you.

There were challenges too — especially during the second stage in Central Asia. The constantly changing geopolitical situation, border closures, regional tensions, and eventually having to leave Iran just before the conflict in the Persian Gulf escalated gave this part of the journey a completely different dimension.

This was a moment that truly tested us. But every difficulty became a lesson, and every obstacle made us stronger — even if this time, it really wasn’t easy.

We closed this stage in Dubai, leaving the Arabian Peninsula during an ongoing conflict. With a sense of relief, a touch of nostalgia, but above all — with a lot of excitement, because this is also the beginning of a new chapter.

Next: South and East Asia — new directions, new challenges, and plenty of unknowns. And that’s exactly what makes us want to keep going.

Stay with us – Screw it. Let’s ride! 🏍️💪🏻

The second stage of Expedition East took us through Central Asia — a region we were really curious about, but only scratched the surface of. We’re leaving with a strong feeling of not enough.

Kazakhstan was all about space. Endless steppe, empty roads — but also herds of horses on the horizon and Bactrian camels that kept breaking the monotony of the landscape.

Kyrgyzstan changed the pace completely. Mountains, switchbacks, high passes — easily some of the best riding terrain in the region.

Tajikistan was about the Pamir Highway. Rough, unpredictable, and worth every kilometer. The Wakhan Valley, along the Afghan border, felt remote in a way that’s hard to describe — quiet, raw, and unforgettable.

Uzbekistan brought a different rhythm. Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva — places we knew from history books, now right in front of us. Architecture, colors, and history that still feels alive.

Turkmenistan was short but intense. The burning gas crater in the middle of the desert, and Ashgabat — massive, empty, and surreal.

And then… Iran. Not part of the original plan, and unfortunately a place we didn’t get to experience the way we wanted. Probably the biggest feeling of unfinished business from this stage.

This part of the journey was a mix of everything: raw nature, deep history, empty spaces, and vibrant cities.

Our original plan was to conclude this stage in Islamabad 🇵🇰, which we intended to reach via Afghanistan... well, life, however, writes its own scripts... all we can do now is hope that we will make it there someday 🤞.

So it was also one of the most demanding stages. Borders, paperwork, logistics, and a constantly changing situation meant adapting every single day — often without knowing what’s next.

Iran had been on our minds for a long time.

We first planned to go there in October 2024, but had to give up. Then again in August 2025 — and once more, it didn’t work out.

In November 2025, our route through Central Asia changed unexpectedly. With borders closed elsewhere, the only way forward was through Turkmenistan… and then Iran.

This time, we truly believed it would finally happen.
We had heard so much about this country — its beauty, its culture, its people.

But just a few days after arriving, everything changed.
A message from home meant we had to return to Poland immediately.

We left our bike in Tehran, hoping to come back at the beginning of the year and continue the journey — this time properly, without rushing.

But as weeks passed, the situation kept evolving, becoming more and more uncertain.

In the end, we did return — but only briefly.
Not to explore, not to discover, but simply to get the bike and leave.

What we experienced in Iran became, in a way, just a transit.
And yet… it left a strong impression.

We saw enough to know that this is a country that deserves time.
Beautiful landscapes, incredible history, and a culture shaped over thousands of years.

But more than anything, it was the people.
Even in such a short time, we met so many kind, open-hearted souls who truly touched us.

And maybe that’s what stayed with us the most.

We left with a deep sense of unfinished story.
And a hope that one day, when the time is right, we will come back — and experience it the way we always wanted to.
