🤣🤣 Love this!!

Been called a witch on more than one occasion - one very memorable time it was yelled across a car park after predicting a surprise pregnancy just from taking a Chinese Pulse.

It’s a hat I’m always delighted to wear though! 😂🧙🏻🐈‍⬛ 🧹💜💜

Technically, I’m manipulating the flow of qi and blood to encourage your body’s natural healing abilities while causing micro-traumas that stimulate your central nervous system to release chemicals into your muscles, spinal cord, and brain.

But I’ll never turn down being called magic or a witch.

It’s World Mental Health Day and this year’s theme is about making mental wellbeing a global priority. And perhaps this should always have been the case – but we are where we are.

It’s important to know that it’s OK to not feel good all the time. You are not broken and you are not alone. Choose one thing today (or more than one thing if you can manage it) that helps you to move forward. It doesn’t have to be a “big” thing – in fact small steps are often more fruitful.

Give you mind space and room to unwind and recharge – so that you can heal a little more each day.

I’ve been trying to work out why I’m seeing so many clients lately with neck problems. Then I realised that they are all still working from home.

In most work places there would be regular ergonomic checks performed of work spaces and desks so I decided to put together some tips for self-care, wellness and productivity when it comes to working from home so that you can reduce your risk of neck and shoulder pain.

💎 Firstly - Check your posture. This is the most important aspect of good ergonomics, so do your best not to slouch while you work. Try setting an alarm on your phone/computer every 30 minutes or so as a reminder to check your posture and also to get up and walk around for a couple of minutes.

💎 Secondly - optimize your workspace. Working for long periods of time in an awkward position can lead to fatigue and discomfort. Try keeping your keyboard and mouse close to avoid arm, wrist or shoulder pain (especially important if you’re working from a laptop).

💎 Thirdly (and probably most importantly!) separate your spaces – particularly if you find yourself working from the same place where you rest (i.e. the sofa!) Ergonomically speaking, modern sofas are too deep for work which can lead to tension in the neck and in the lower back. Try to separate your work and rest areas as much as possible as well so that you can maintain healthy boundaries.

What would you love to have achieved in the next 30, 60, 90 days? Eat more healthily? Ditch sugar? Drink less alcohol? Move your body more?

On the one hand it’s a great thing to challenge yourself and it’s also crucial to be realistic – as well as laser focused!

Avoid the temptation of adding loads of things to your list. Get to work on setting your BIG priorities or goals. Next, set a timeline and then break down each goal into smaller steps – so that you know what you need to do and when you need to do it.

Commit to keeping things simple so that you can avoid getting distracted by shiny object syndrome.

The month of October holds one of our greatest lessons … the art of letting go!

Do you constantly dwell on something you have no control over? Maybe it’s already happened, or you’re sitting fearfully waiting for it to happen or you’re in a situation right now that you cannot see a way out of.

The truth is there are three solutions to every problem – accept it, change it or leave it. If you can’t accept it, change it. If you can’t change it, leave it.

There are some pretty effective tools for letting go. Meditation and journaling are among my favourites.

Use journalling to do a “brain dump” of your concerns and worries – get them out of your head and on to paper.

And then choose a form of meditation that works for you to give you some clarity around the situation and to help calm your critter brain.
