Getting sick while travelling is never fun โ€” especially when youโ€™re in a country where you may not know where to go or who to ask for help.

If you start feeling unwell during your trip in Vietnam, here are a few things you can do:

๐Ÿจ 1. Tell your hotel first
Your hotel reception can often help you find a nearby pharmacy, clinic or hospital, call a taxi, or explain where you need to go. This can be especially helpful if youโ€™re unfamiliar with the area.

๐Ÿ’Š 2. For mild symptoms, visit a reputable pharmacy
For common, mild symptoms, you can visit a pharmacy and speak with a pharmacist. Some pharmacies in tourist areas have English-speaking staff.

If you take regular medication, itโ€™s a good idea to have the name of the medicine or a photo of the packaging with you. Also let the pharmacist know about any allergies you have.

If your symptoms are persistent or you feel that you need to see a doctor, look for a reputable clinic or hospital, preferably one that provides English-language support.
