Not all “bad reviews” are honest.

On shared group tours, we sometimes meet travelers who expect more than just a guided experience — they expect personal service. Small requests turn into repeated favors: buying things, running errands, handling tasks outside the tour itself.

Of course, great guides always try to help whenever possible.
But when a guide politely says no — to stay with the group, to keep everyone on schedule, to do the job properly — it doesn’t always go well.

Later, it might sound like this:

“The guide wasn’t helpful. Not flexible. Would not recommend.”

But here’s what’s often missing from that story:

The guide did their job.
The tour ran smoothly.
Everyone else had a good experience.

The only problem?
Unmet expectations.

A tour guide is there to take care of the whole group — not to handle personal errands outside the experience.

So next time you read a review, remember:
sometimes a “small complaint” says more about expectations than it does about the quality of the tour.

A 7-day motorbike journey from Da Lat to Hue and Hoi An is both exhilarating and deeply memorable. Leaving Da Lat in the cool morning mist, we rode through winding mountain passes, pine forests, and hidden waterfalls. As we moved toward the central coast, the scenery shifted dramatically—sunlit skies, salty sea air, and peaceful fishing villages.

By the third day, we reached Quy Nhon, where fresh seafood and a quiet sunset by the beach offered a perfect pause. The journey continued along breathtaking coastal roads, with endless ocean views and strong winds pushing us forward. Arriving in Hue, the atmosphere slowed; the Perfume River and ancient imperial tombs reflected a sense of history and calm.

The final stretch led us to Hoi An, where lantern-lit streets glowed warmly at night, creating a nostalgic charm. Over seven days, the trip was more than just a ride—it was a journey of connection, discovery, and a deeper appreciation for Vietnam’s diverse landscapes and culture, experienced one kilometer at a time.

It's been quite a while since we last saw the remains of a tank surface on Quy Nhon beach... This photo was taken by a local resident while swimming in the sea a few days ago.
