Surviving in Vietnam Ep 5/100: Cards vs. Cash. 💳💵

Can you survive on plastic alone? No.

Here is the reality check:
🏢 Hotels, convenience stores, high-end spots = Cards are fine.
🍜 Street food & local eateries = Cash is king.
📱 QR codes on tables = Usually for local bank transfers only (so don't rely on them as a tourist).

Pro tip: Break your big 500k bills at chain minimarts, and save your small notes (20k, 50k, 100k) for the streets.

What is your biggest money question for Vietnam? Let us know below! 👇

Surviving in Vietnam Ep 4/100: The Tap Water Rule. 🇻🇳

Can you drink straight from the tap? No. Not even locals do.

Here is the reality check:
💧 Drinking: Stick to bottled water (it is everywhere and costs under 50 cents).
😁Brushing your teeth: Tap water is completely fine.
🧊 Ice in your drinks: Safe! 99% of places use factory-purified ice.

Don't let the water anxiety ruin your trip.

Surviving in Vietnam Ep 3/100: The Money Trap. 💸🇻🇳

Vietnamese polymer notes have way too many zeros, and the colors will absolutely trick you if you are not paying attention.

The biggest rookie mistakes:
❌ Mixing up the blue 20,000 and 500,000.
❌ Mixing up the yellowish 10,000 and 200,000.

The cheat code? Drop the last three zeros in your head (500,000 = 500). Keep your big bills in a separate wallet compartment, and ALWAYS read the numbers at night.

What is your biggest worry about the money here? Drop it below! 👇

"They said they knew a spot..." ☕️

You literally have to walk down a dark, narrow alley to find this place. But trust the process. Once you get upstairs, you get the perfect balcony to just sit back and watch the Old Quarter chaos go by.

📍 Nắng Coffee - 27 D**g Xuan, Hanoi. Save this hidden gem! 👇

Don't walk past this cart. 🛑🍌

This is Bánh Chuối Nếp Nướng (Grilled Banana Sticky Rice). We went straight for the blue (butterfly pea) and purple (magenta leaf) versions.

The magic is all in the texture: a crispy, charcoal-grilled crust on the outside, sweet banana inside, completely drowned in hot coconut cream and roasted peanuts. It is heavy, sweet, and absolutely worth it.

📍 1 Hang Duong, Hanoi. Save this for your food tour! 👇

The flat version of Bò Lá Lốt. 🥩

Most places roll them, but flattening them is a total game-changer. It gives the wild betel leaf a perfect char and makes it 10x easier to wrap in rice paper. Smoky, juicy, and herbal all in one bite.

The ultimate cheat code for trying every tropical fruit in Vietnam at once. 🥭🍉

Instead of buying 10 whole fruits, just grab a bowl of Hoa Quả Dầm - Vietnamese mixed Fruit. It is fresh, freezing cold, and drowned in condensed milk. The absolute perfect fix for the city heat.

Welcome to the Pho Multiverse. 🤯🍜

Plot twist: "Pho" is NOT the name of the beef soup. It is actually the name of the flat rice noodle itself! That is why we don't just eat it in broth.

We have Phở Bò (beef soup) and Phở Gà (chicken soup), but it doesn't stop there. We mix it (Phở Trộn), stir-fry it (Phở Xào), deep-fry it into puffy pillows (Phở Chiên Phồng), fry it crispy (Phở Chiên Giòn), and even roll it up (Phở Cuốn).

How many of these have you actually tried? 👇

Coffee gets all the hype, but tea is Vietnam's original social network.

From strong hot green tea to 50-cent 'Trà Đá' outside the street, and massive boba cups with friends. The drinks evolve, but the goal is always the same: connection.

Raw or fried? 🇻🇳🔥

Vietnamese fermented pork (Nem Chua) might sound a bit crazy at first, but it is basically our version of salami! The classic version is naturally fermented in banana leaves - sour, garlicky, and perfectly safe.

But if you hit the streets of Hanoi, you have to try it fried. Crispy on the outside, incredibly chewy on the inside, and dipped in spicy chili sauce.

Classic or Fried? Drop your choice below!

The cheapest and best therapy in Vietnam: Karaoke. ✨

Whether it is hiding in a tiny karaoke box after a long day or holding a live street concert with a portable speaker, karaoke is our ultimate stress reliever. We don't sing to sound perfect; we sing to let it all out and connect.

Have you experienced a Vietnamese karaoke session yet? 🎶👇
