Is it safe to solo-travel in Vietnam?
I have had this question for the longest time and have been asking around but seems like I can’t find a good answer for it. So I figured that I would find out on my own.
My trip started on March 13th 2024 in Ha Noi. I’ve been in Ha Noi before so I kinda had better ideas about what I wanted to do. Water puppetry show, egg coffee, coconut coffee, bun cha and pho!!! I’m gonna describe everything very detailed.
For the water puppetry show, I booked my ticket on Traveloka for a hassle-free experience and it costed me 30.000vnd (~$1.18) extra for that. I just needed to go to an address that they gave me on traveloka app, showed them my booking, picked up my ticket and went to the theater, showed staffs my ticket and went inside, meanwhile people who bought the tickets at the theater had to wait in a long line. The show was indeed very unique and lots of fun. They used these wooden puppets to tell Vietnamese folklore, using traditional music (live, was performed by musicians). The best part was that they had headphones and you could choose in the list of languages they had available. There was a coffee shop nearby the theater, after the show I went to try out their egg coffee. It was a very delicious drink… (to be continued)
