🎉 St. Thomas Carnival 2026 is almost here and you need a place to stay!
These six downtown Charlotte Amalie favorites put you right in the heart of the action…close to the parade route, Village Nights, the music and all the late-night fun that makes Carnival week worth the trip.
Here’s your shortlist:
🌴 The Pink Palm Hotel — Adults-only, newly renovated and honestly one of the most stylish boutiques on the island. Emerald-tiled pool, harbor views, breakfast delivered in a picnic basket and cocktails named after things that make you smile. Forbes called it the best USVI hotel for couples. Carnival week is going to look very good from that rooftop.
🏛️ Hotel 1829 — Built in 1829 by a French sea trader…this beautifully restored landmark is as much museum as hotel. Tiffany stained glass, historic rum flights at the Rumpourium bar, sweeping harbor views from the balconies and a guest list over the decades that includes Jackie Onassis and Paul McCartney. History tastes good here.
🦎 The Green Iguana Hotel — Nine cozy rooms on Blackbeard’s Hill, family-owned and beloved. Solar powered, harbor views, a sweet little pool deck, kitchenettes in most rooms and a short stroll down the 99 Steps right into town. Consistent TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence winner since 2010 for a reason.
🌸 The Mary Anne Boutique Hotel — Six private rooms just steps from Blackbeard’s Castle with pool views that will make your jaw drop. Rooftop pool, Nespresso machines, shared kitchen, washer/dryer and hands-on hosts who will have a taxi waiting before you even ask. Perfectly sized for a girls’ trip or a romantic getaway.
⛵ Olga’s Fancy — Tucked into the waterfront in Frenchtown, this family-owned inn sits on the shore of Charlotte Amalie Harbor. A six-minute walk to the Blyden Ferry Terminal, steps from some of the best restaurants on the island, and the kind of laid-back harbor energy that makes you forget you had a to-do list. Rated “Wonderful” and one of the most booked properties on island right now.
🏰 Bluebeard’s Castle Resort — Perched on its historic hilltop above Charlotte Amalie, this iconic property has been a symbol of St. Thomas since the 1600s. Panoramic harbor views, pool bar, spacious suites with kitchenettes and that signature red-rooftop silhouette that cruise passengers have spotted for generations. Central and classic.
Carnival 2026 runs late April into early May. Book early…these spots fill up fast during Carnival week and most are small. These hotels are absolutely perfect for this time of year. 🎶
