Hiring Marine Mechanic

Wormley Creek Marina is looking for an energetic, self-motivated, and organized individual with experience servicing recreational boats, both power and sail, inboard, outboard, and inboard/outboard.
Must be able to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical systems. An experienced self-starter is needed, this is not a trainee position. Must be able to diagnose and repair gas and diesel power, both inboard and stern drive. Outboard engine repair/maintenance, both two-stroke and 4 stroke experience desirable. Experience with marine electronics is desirable. Knowledge of industry standards for electrical and fuel systems is a must.
Job duties also include routine boat, equipment, and facility maintenance. Salary is dependent on experience.

Thanks for everyone concerns

During our morning pier check. Two employee's notice smoke coming from a neighbor's vessel. The owner was notified and our employee's assisted in moving the boat from the covered slip. YCFD was notified and arrived on scene within 5 minutes. No fuel was released. It appears to be issues with wiring in the main power panel of the vessel. No flames, however the vessels interior did suffer smoke damage. Thanks to everyone who checked on us. Big shout out for the all the responders. York County Department of Fire and Life Safety, York County Sheriff's Office, Virginia Marine Police, Virginia State Police, York County Hazmat Crew, Abingdon Marine Fire Boat, and all others. Thank also employee's Sean and James in their quick actions for assisting the boat owner.
