Today I'm posting a picture that Todd Hunt shared on my last Facebook post. Someday I'll have to tell Todd's entire story because it's a good one.
Years ago, Todd bought Ace with big dreams of becoming a barnstormer and making a living giving biplane rides in Monterey, California. He purchased Ace from owners in the Tampa, Florida area and began an incredible journey. First, he flew to the East Coast to pick up his brother. From there, they flew out to visit Todd's family in Denver before eventually making their way to Monterey.
Long story short, Todd gave it a solid six months before realizing that, like many of us have discovered, barnstorming is not an easy way to make a living. Eventually, he returned to his previous job that paid the bills.
About 10 years ago, Todd came across a picture of me online or in a magazine and reached out. We've only met in person once, but we've stayed in touch over the years and message each other from time to time.
Barnstorming isn't easy, and the people who have put their foot forward and given it a real shot know exactly what I'm talking about. It takes determination, sacrifice, and a lot of passion for aviation.
