ch-ch-changes...time to shift down and switch direction
Two years ago, Steve and I made the exciting decision to start our own trucking company: Starbuck Transport
In two years:
*We have traveled 100,647 miles
*Revenue average: $2 per mile
*We have spent $67,597 in fuel
*We have replaced 30 tires total on the truck and trailer
In April of 2022, our very first cargo was a shipping container to Spokane - and have since moved dozens more shipping containers, along with tractors, construction generators, lumber, steel piping, giant construction tubes, vehicles, industrial trash compactors, ATV's, Humvees for the military, and tons and tons of grapes for local wineries in Woodinville
We traveled all over Washington, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and California
We have seen some of the most stunning countryside in the nation and incredible wildlife like bears, dear, elk, and moose
We have braved major snow storms, wind storms, rain storms, brutal cold and suffocating heat
Most importantly, we have met some of the most generous people and forged new friendships
Starting Starbuck Transport was exceptionally challenging, as the trucking industry is one of the most regulated businesses you can engage in.
At times, it has felt like we needed advanced degrees in transportation law, International Fuel Tax Agreement regulations, Insurance law, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, advanced math and calculations, IRS laws and more.
Our company motto has always been: You get what you give.
In addition, our other company motto is: Don't be a dick.
Early on, Steve and I decided it was crucial we run this company with integrity and graciousness. We have strived to deliver excellent service while staying competitive and fair.
Its been an amazing ride, but it's time to put it in park.
We have decided to not move forward with Starbuck Transport, BUT believe us when we say we are absolutely so glad we pursued this dream of running our own company.
We have learned so much and are confident we could do it again, just not trucking. Its an extremely expensive endeavor that we just can't sustain. (Who knew Washington state would consistently be in the top three of THE MOST EXPENSIVE FUEL in the country??)
THANK YOU all for the amazing support over the past two years
Steve and Marina
