These Zenair / Zenith amphibious floats are getting SHINY and will soon be installed on a Wag-Aero Sportsman 2+2 (experimental replica of a Piper PA-14 Family Cruiser)! 🤩

A few months ago, a client dropped off a disassembled Zenith CH 601 XL on a flatbed trailer, along with a dozen boxes of parts.

The previous owner had started converting it from conventional (taildragger) gear to tricycle gear, barely begun the installation of a Viking 130 engine, and torn into the wiring, before the project sat for many sad years in a barn.

After finishing those tasks and completing countless repairs and upgrades, she’s back where she belongs… in the air! 🚀

This Zenith CH601XL is about to leave the nest!

After numerous repairs, upgrades, electrical work, and the installation of a Viking 130 engine, she’s ready to take to the skies for another 5 hours of Phase 1 flight testing! ✈️🌍

Big milestone today: We started the Jabiru 3300 on this Zenith CH 750 STOL today for the first time!

The builder has done a beautiful job so far. We’re tying up all the loose ends, primarily the electrical system, avionics, interior, rigging, and paint. 😃👍

Taking care of the final tasks before we can put the Zenith Aircraft CH601's wings back on. The aircraft has been sitting in a barn for years, the Viking Aircraft Engines 130 however fired right up an ran smoothly!

We love new tech, but sometimes the traditional methods are still the best choice.

NASA continues to use lacing tape for wiring harnesses in their most critical space applications: Proven reliability that stands the test of time. 🛰️
We take the same approach for our clients, with properly labeled wires!

Old-school done right. 💪

Michigan winters: nothing screams “seaplane season” like picking up amphibious Zenair floats in sub-zero temps. 🥶

We’re finishing these beauties and installing them on a client’s Wag-Aero Wag-a-Bond in the wildly optimistic belief the lakes will thaw someday.

Spring, don’t let us down! 🛟⚓️

No matter if we are building a Zenith with a complex panel or a small Badland ultralight, the planning of the electrical systems starts with the creation of a wiring diagram.

Buying a partially built homebuilt aircraft project?
We get it—many of our customers feel a bit nervous wondering if everything was done right by the previous builder.

That's where we shine! One of our key services is a thorough inspection: comparing your aircraft to the plans, verifying the correct fasteners are used everywhere, and ensuring bolts are torqued to exact specs. We also dive deep into the electrical system—it's surprisingly common to find improper wiring, terminals, or fuses that need fixing.

And projects that have been stored for years? We've seen it all... including wings that were literally packed with dried corn leaves from barn storage!

Our goal? To hand you the keys to a safe, reliable airplane you can fly with total confidence. If you've got a project that's been sitting or recently purchased, reach out—we'd love to help get you in the air safely!

While most of our projects are Zenith kitplanes, we also love tube and fabric airplanes. The wings for our customer's Badland, similar to Kitfox, are now DONE and ready for paint! 👍
