🚢🤢 WORRIED ABOUT MOTION SICKNESS ON A CRUISE? 🤢🚢
If the thought of being on a moving ship makes your stomach turn, don’t let that keep you from cruising! ❤️ There are LOTS of ways to help prevent or reduce motion sickness.
✨ A few of my favorite cruising tips:
🛳️ Choose your cabin wisely
If you’re prone to motion sickness, look for a cabin on a lower deck and closer to the middle of the ship. There’s generally less movement there.
🌊 Look at the horizon
Spending time outside and looking at the horizon can help your brain better reconcile what your eyes see with what your inner ear is feeling.
🍬 Try ginger
Ginger candies, chews, or tea can be helpful for some people.
💊 Consider medication
There are over-the-counter and prescription options that can help with motion sickness. If you know you’re prone to it, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before your cruise about what may be appropriate for you.
🩹 Motion-sickness patches/bands
Some cruisers swear by motion-sickness patches or acupressure wristbands.
My husband gets severe motion sickness and he wears patches from Amazon (MQ motion sickness patches). He also wears the ReliefBand and he has had no problems on any of our cruises since wearing these!
⭐ And here’s the good news:
Modern cruise ships are HUGE and equipped with stabilizers designed to reduce the ship’s movement. Many people who are worried about getting seasick are surprised by how comfortable they actually feel onboard!
And if you’re nervous about cruising because of motion sickness, talk to me before you book! I can help you choose a ship, itinerary, and cabin location that may make your cruise experience more comfortable. 🛳️✨
