The HDFI Committee will host the 2022 event on Saturday, September 17, from 8 am to 12 noon at the Winslow-Lindbergh Regional Airport. This free annual event features airplanes, history, food, and more! As in years past, the High Desert Fly-In will include free admission to all and a Cowboy Breakfast by the Winslow Rotary Club from 8 to 10 am for $6 a person. Visiting pilots will enjoy complimenta
ry breakfast, gift bags, and fuel discounts. Attendees will be allowed on the tarmac to view general aviation, special-use, and historical aircraft. Young people will once again be offered complimentary flights courtesy of the Flagstaff EAA on a first-come/first-served basis from 8 to 11 am (waiver required). Inside the hangar, the Flying Fun Kids Area will feature hands-on activities from the Winslow Public Library and an interactive World Travel Map. The Flying Through History Area will include the Old Trails Museum’s Flying through History: The Winslow-Lindbergh Regional Airport and The Swamp Ghost and World War II exhibits. Historian Erik Berg will be on hand to talk with attendees about early aviation in the Southwest. The featured charity will once again be the Fly-In Angels for Winslow Animal Control. Attendees can bring donations of pet food to the event for donation to the shelter. Wiseman Aviation will also donate a 50-pound bag of dog food for every pilot that attends! Attendees were allowed on the tarmac to view general aviation, special-use, and historical aircraft. Young people received complimentary flights courtesy of the Flagstaff EAA -- thanks to that wonderful group!
Inside the hangar, the Flying Fun Kids Area featured hands-on activities from the Winslow Public Library. The Flying Through History Area included the Old Trails Museum’s "Flying through History: The Winslow-Lindbergh Regional Airport" and "The Swamp Ghost and World War II" exhibits and an interactive U.S. Travel Map. Historian Erik Berg shared his knowledge and historic artifacts about early aviation in the Southwest.
The featured charity was once again the Fly-In Angels for Winslow Animal Control. Attendees brought donations of pet food to the event for donation to the shelter. Wiseman Aviation will be donating a 50-pound bag of dog food for every pilot that attends!

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 High Desert Fly-In will not take place on Saturday, September 19. The HDFI Committee plans to host the Fly-In next year on Saturday, September 18, 2021, when we hope to see you all there again.

PLANS FOR SEPTEMBER 18, 2021
The High-Desert Fly-In takes place annually at the Winslow-Lindbergh Regional Airport, 701 Airport Road, on the second-to-last Saturday in September. Residents, tourists, and pilots from around the country are invited to this free event at Winslow’s historic airport to enjoy airplanes, history, food, and more.
In partnership with Winslow Animal Control, the High Desert Fly-In invites pilots to become Fly-In Angels by donating dog food, treats, and toys! Simply bring your donation to the Fly-In that day, or donate cash that will buy needed shelter supplies. Angels receive a WAC Adoption Coupon!
Visiting pilots enjoy complimentary breakfast, gift bags, and fuel discounts. Wiseman Aviation also donates 40 cents of every gallon of discounted fuel sold that day to WAC.
Attendees can take a Winslow Senior Center shuttle from the free parking along Airport Road to the historic hangar. The Winslow Rotary Club hosts a pancake breakfast from 8 to 10 am for $6 per person, and the E & O Kitchen opens early 10 am on its tarmac patio.
Attendees are allowed on the tarmac to view general aviation, special-use, and historical aircraft. The EAA’s Young Eagles program provides complimentary plane rides to young people ages 8 to 17. The rides are first-come/first-served from 8 to 11 am, and parental waivers are required.
Inside the hangar, the Flying Fun Kids Area includes hands-on activities provided by the Winslow Public Library and an interactive United States Travel Map.
Also in the hangar, the Flying Through History Area includes the Old Trails Museum's “Flying through History: The Winslow-Lindbergh Regional Airport” and “The Swamp Ghost and World War II” exhibits. Historian Erik Berg and the Western New Mexico Aviation Heritage Museum in Grants share displays and talk with attendees about early aviation in the Southwest.
Attendees also bid in the High Desert Silent Auction, which includes items donated by local businesses and individuals. Bidding closes at the end of the event and winners can take their items.
