It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved former employee, Collin Kimball. Collin passed away earlier this week at the young age of twenty-five, after a courageous struggle with cancer. A truly extraordinary employee, family member, and friend, Collin was loved by coworkers and customers alike. As one of Wi******er’s finest, he was also a legacy employee and a dedicated hard worker, following in the footsteps of his great, great grandfather, who founded G.R. Nowell & Son, Inc. He worked with us during the summers and vacations throughout high school and college before embarking on his professional career. It was an honor and privilege watching him grow into a confident young man. He was brave, selfless and he will be deeply missed. We send our condolences and prayers to the entire Kimball family. Sleep well, Collin. We love you.

Labor Day Schedule Change

In observance of the Labor Day holiday, we will be CLOSED on Monday, September 1, 2025. Our office will be closed, and we there will be NO residential trash or recycling pick ups. (EXCEPTION: On Monday, we will pick up garbage for our food service commercial clients only).
Instead, we will pick up rubbish/recyclables on Tuesday, June 2nd, along with our regular scheduled Tuesday pick ups. Please have refuse out and accessible by 7:45 AM. Due to sheer volume, if you do not have everything out early, it is unlikely that we be able to return later that day.
The Labor Day holiday will not affect/impact other regularly scheduled pick up days. We are on our regular schedule except on Monday.

Please have a wonderful and safe holiday weekend!

Thank you, Charlene Band and Wi******er News for the wonderfully written article. Somehow you managed to make our fairly unsexy business look pretty darn good 😊 It’s perfect and we are very grateful.
Also, huge thank you’s to all of our past and present, incredibly hard working employees, and to all of the wonderful customers that we’ve worked with throughout the years❤️

The Nowell family has been operating a local Wi******er business for almost 100 years. Five generations! The first owner, George Russell Nowell, initially did “anything for a buck” type-of-work ranging from hauling and removing junk by horse and wagon and clearing fields. As his business grew, i...
