Hey, folks!

We’ve received a few calls today about low flying aircraft over Cowan and Wi******er.

We have entered crop dusting and seeding season, and we have Air Tractors that are currently operating out of the airport.

We understand that low flying aircraft may be cause for concern, but air tractors are meant to be flying at low altitudes with highly trained pilots, and will only operate for a short period of time before flying to a new area.

We appreciate your efforts to notify us and we will continue to do our best to ensure the safety of both our pilots and neighbors here in Franklin County.

Just a few updates from our construction:

🚧 We have extended our conference room and offices spaces for a more comfortable and professional experience.

🚧 In the lobby, we are adding a coffee bar for our pilots and locals to enjoy while you’re flight planning or simply enjoying the airspace.

🚧 We are refreshing the carpets and paint in our common areas.

🚧 A vestibule with updated ADA accessibility is being added for terminal access.

🚧 A new roof has been added for more energy efficiency.

We are excited to see how the next phases of this project will modernize our terminal! As a reminder, the main terminal is closed during the restoration process. You can find our temporary office on the south ramp next to the fuel farm.

The Wi******er Airport is making great progress on our terminal restoration project. We are currently in the first phase of expanding our conference room and office spaces, replacing the roof and adding new countertops and electrical outlets.

While the construction is progressing, our power has had to be shut off for interim periods of time which may affect our internet and phone communications.

We ask that if you try to contact us during an unscheduled power outage and can't get through to us, please send an email at [email protected] so we can help you as quickly as we can.

For our pilots, we will post NOTAM's with any updates that may affect your flight planning.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience.

Our terminal restoration project is finally underway at BGF! For the next two months, our main terminal will be closed and we will temporarily staying in our trailer on the south ramp nearest the terminal.

A few things to note:

✈️ Our temporary trailer does NOT have restrooms or running water, portable restrooms are located on the front of trailer building. They are marked women’s and mens.

✈️ You will not be able to access the main terminal at any time during the construction, including the afterhours pilot lounge.

✈️ If you need to drive to the trailer, you can access it through the ramp gate and drive parallel to the terminal.

We will still resume normal business hours!

We have had a couple questions about our current runway closure.

We want to emphasize that we are open during daylight hours!

There is currently an active NOTAM that Runway 18/36 is closed but this is only during Sunset to Sunrise (SS-SR) due to the lack of runway lighting. This is to ensure the safety of our pilots and airport staff.

We are working with an airport lighting specialist to get us up and running as soon as possible. The Notam is active for another couple months, but we hope to resolve this issue sooner.

Thom Duncan Avionics, a leading aircraft avionics service company and FAA-certified repair station, has officially moved its operations into an 8,000-square-foot hangar at Wi******er Municipal Airport.

Job postings will be advertised on our website, page and local newspaper. If you see a post not listed or shared from these sources, please report it.

The Wi******er Airport is accepting bids for our 1995 Ford Bronco XL on GovDeals.

1995 Ford Bronco SPORT UTILITY 2-DR, 5.0L V8 OHV 16V.

DOES NOT RUN. WILL HAVE TO BE TOWED.
Gas engine.
Been sitting for 5 years.
Removed from service in 2020.
No maintenance records.
Automatic transmission is in unknown condition since it has been sitting for so long.
4WD condition unknown.
White exterior. Minor dents, dings and scratches.
No cracked glass.
Tires are dry rotted.
Decals removed and impressions remain.
White leather seats, driver seat ripped.
Dash has cracks.
Stock AM/FM Radio.
AC condition unknown.
